Interest free credit.

Options
My daughter has recently ordered a bed costing over £1k on interest free credit from Dreams. The finance being covered by Barclay's.
The finance was agreed and the bed delivered yesterday. However, she has not received any finance documents, and the direct debit has not been set up. Does anyone know how this works, have tried to contact Dreams but they suggested Barclay's which is proving difficult. Thanks.

A Direct Debit can take up to 14 days to set up. I wouldn't worry, the first payment date will be planned accordingly for this. Did your daughter get a copy of the instruction in store?

Chances are it will be Barclays Partner Finance you are talking about.

Usually the documents will arrive in the post, and the DD payment taken approx a month after that, or whatever date was previously agreed.

All my documents came through via email from BPF when I used them for a 0% interest purchase.

  • It was purchased on line. The original application was made around a month ago. She has not had any email regarding credit at all either from Dreams or Barclay's. I will advise her to wait for a couple more weeks then. Thanks.

I'd recommend trying to get through to someone who can clarify what's going on.

Waiting is not the best strategy. It's more likely to be okay but you wouldn't wait to be sat twiddling your thumbs if it turns out that there's been an error somewhere. Get peace of mind sooner rather than later.
