Home insurance extras - worth it?

Hi all, just coming up to renew my home insurance policy and renewal quote is £206 for building and contents plus accidential damage for both, legal cover and home emergency cover.
I can't get cheaper than that if I shop around.
However, with some quotes online, if I remove the accidental damage, legal cover and home emergency cover, I can shave around £60 off the price.
I was just wondering what people thought as to the use of these 'extras', mandatory excess is £100 for buildings or contents, there is no voluntary excess required on any quote.

Hi fluffy123, this will always be personal choice. However, that £206 quote does look an excellent price, mine was double a few weeks ago for a small house! I wouldn't suggest shaving off the £60 as you'll regret if (worst case scenario) if you need some of those extra cover bits.
Home emergency cover on it's own is well worth it for any plumbing probs as a plumber will probably be £60+ just as a minimum call out charge for one job. Grab the deal? Looks like a good one.0 -
Over 80% of claims get classified under accidental damage.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks for the advice guys, the renewal quote itself is very competitive as I say (can't find better that is compariable - 2 years NCD helps...) and the figure is almost exactly the same as last year (might be a few pence more but it's definitely no more than that).0
