Hire company car - accident & charges
Hi guys,
I was issued a hire car while my car was being repaired.
During this time, I had a (what I thought was very small!) knock into a car in front (his car was fine).
A month on and they have billed me for the damages.
£500 exceed (I was expecting that) and £600 for loss of business.
Is this pretty normal?
Also, the repairs invoices came to £4.5k which although I'm no mechanic/technician, seems astronomical given the impact and visual damage.
Thanks for your help guys!

Clause: "You will on demand pay to the Lessor an amount equal to the daily rental rate specified overleaf up to a maximum of 30 days in respect of damages for loss of use for
each calendar day or part of a calendar day where the Hire Vehicle is unavailable to the Lessor for hire because You have not returned it in accordance with Clause 7 or the Hire Vehicle has suffered a mechanical failure (except where You have complied with clause 20) or the Hire Vehicle has been damaged."
So at a day rate of £57.47 they're essentially calculating that the car was out of action for 10.5 days0
