Cutting skirting boards

Thanks all, right an update. All 4 corners were pretty much bang on, have cut them all and primed and satin top coated them (before fitting them, maybe shouldnt of but to save time). As they sit very flush to all 4 walls, along the full lengths so I was just going to use a grab adhesive (I've got some Sticks Like Sh*t indoors that a carpenter left behind when he done another room for us)
Will the adhesive be enough for the skirting? Or should I hammer in a few masonry nails along each board too? (and then fill and touch them up)0 -
A few pins to hold it in place tight to the wall while the adhesive goes off is all it really needs. Without them you may find the adhesive pushes it out a little bit.
Then just fill the holes (use a punch to make sure the nails are below the surface) with some good wood filler, sand well and prime the filler before proceeding to undercoat and topcoat. If you don't prime you might find it grins through the paint0 -
Adhesive like No More Nails will work fine, without, err, nails.
I recently put skirting down in the hall and dining room and was going to nail it, but the walls are like iron. As long as the walls are reasonably straight/flat, a bit of gentle pressure and they will stick fast. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -

Thats what I was thinking/hoping (t keep it looking perfect), but as one of my other posts on here I used no nails/sticks like !!!! to fix 2 plaster vents to the wall and they still slid down after holding them in place for 15 or more minutes, was worried my skirting boards may topple forward if I only use adhesive?0 -
Sticks like s**t needs to be held in place until it dries.0
