Ppi claim

Options
Hi
We tried to claim ppi through a company and gave them all the details we had regarding the bank it was for.
However after a few weeks we got a letter back from them saying the bank could not find any accounts for us.
This bank is no longer on the high street but does finance now. They are HFC which became BENEFICIAL.
The loans we had with them are from many years ago, over 15 but this company who were doing it said that did not matter. We even gave them our old bank account number from when we banked with HFC but they said they could not find us. We know we took ppi out with them as the way they sold it was quite convincing.
Is there any way we can get them to repay us, or is over 15 years too late to claim?
Pam

Sounds to me like the claims company owes you the cash themselves then.

Companies don't keep data for ever, so you have nothing, and your lenders have nothing, it's a dead end.

On the plus side, you haven't given any reasons for mis sale, so you've probably saved yourself some time.

Fifteen years isn't too late if you've got the loan account number and proof of payment. My HFC loan with PPI was taken out 20 years ago. It was set up with a single, upfront premium, and got upheld.

I believe HFC complaints are now handled by HSBC. If you decide to submit your own complaint and it succeeds you may have to pay a fee to the CMC if you signed a contract with them.
