I'm about to post a To Do list to motivate myself: be warned!
I'm tired from a heavy few days at work but I'm back in from tomorrow to Friday so this is my only full day to get things done and I need to plough on.
Progress so far:
Trimmed and washed my hair
Done all the washing - even the bits at the bottom of the basket (thought I may as well get them out of the way)
Done a bit of a warm-up for my piano lesson (not practice)
Put the guinea pig and his friend who's on holiday with us out in the garden. (Not together. Baby guineas are adorable but not a good idea at present!)
Pick first greengages
Start a supermarket online order for stuff I can't get locally
To do - urgent:
piano practice
food shop
Get things ready for my friends visiting this evening
Tidy up!
To do - important:
sort out donations to charity (and create space!)
buy foundation as mine has disappeared
buy adaptor for toothbrush
update spending diary on here
There may be more... I'll be backI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I have survived the list and the house is a lot tidier! DD's car broke down mid-evening and at first it sounded like a horrendously expensive job or end-of-the-road, but it turned out just to be a little valve that had died. The garage has it for now (DH wrote them a note and popped it through their letterbox - love the personal touch!) and DD will have to get the train to work tomorrow which will take hours, but hopefully that's only for a day.
So here's how the list went:Cherryfudge wrote: »Progress so far:

and I should have added: chucked the defunct stuff out of the fridge, though I didn't get as far as cleaning it out.

So all in all, it's been a long day but I can see results.

I recently saw someone's chickens in their garden, including a grey one with a fluffy head - I haven't looked it up yet but it was so pretty, maybe I should be looking at these not bantams after all.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

LOL, sorry about that! Is it any help that it's an inch shorter than it was?
Maybe 'in real life' I have long hair, but as cherry I can have short hair, that's fine by me.It's intriguing to think what we all look like in each other's imaginations. You have dark hair just past your shoulders... and new jeans.

Hi Cherry,
Just browsing and came across your diary. Love your to do list. Anyone who has piano practice at the top of their urgent to do list has definitely got life in the right perspective! I also am learning the piano, its very relaxing I find.Aiming to early retire December 31st 2026.0 -
Hello glass_half_full, nice to meet you.
I'm afraid it only made it to the top because I knew I hadn't practised much and I had a lesson looming! Having said that, I'm just starting a new piece which will be challenging but is interesting so I shouldn't get bored. I'm not naturally musical but I do get a lot from playing.
Well, today all the money has stayed safely tucked up in the bank, apart from the bits snoozing in my purse which have been joined by my repayment from petty cash - someone managed to prove to me that I had made a card payment on behalf of work and while I can't remember swiping the card, the receipt is there and I remembered I had gone for a better product as the petty cash I had in hand would only buy something relatively shoddy.
A friend was round for coffee this morning and I've cleaned the bathroom and - greatly daring - washed the dress I wore to the wedding. I reckoned 'dry clean only' couldn't be taken too seriously for something made of polyester and elastene, and it's saved the specialist cleaning fees.
Not much else really, apart from being back on the diet.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
