A good time was had by all... DS1's graduation went very well, and posh frock was not quite too chilly, but I changed into jeans and jumper when I got home. We got a lot of photos to remember the day by.
DH had to work this afternoon, but we went out with all the DCs and their other halves this evening - paid for by people's discount vouchers and the fact DH had accidentally paid off his credit card twice so it all ready had the money waiting! Then it was back to J and L's flat for cake and hilarity. DS2's new girlfriend seemed completely at home, which is lovely.
I'm all but asleep now so I'll get to bed. Nothing spent, though I'm researching a replacement phone. Mine is on strike some of the time now.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Just a quick update as I'm due in work soon. We've had some heavy showers this morning so no car boot sale. I'm doing the sleep in at work tonight which is a few extra pounds, and we've been trying to plan a holiday in September which could be a bit expensive, though we have an account for holiday savings which would cover it. Of course, leaving it to the last minute means a lot of accommodation is rather full, and as we are looking at a more remote part of Britain, we need to plan some downtime activities especially if we get a rainy week. So it's early stages yet.
Spending:
Housekeeping £6.44
MS:
We look like coming £20 under budget this week, though we don't know how we've done that. Yesterday's meal out didn't come from the housekeeping budget so that was a 'free' day (albeit a spendy one, IYSWIM), but other than that I don't think we've done anything different.
One I forgot from the other day: wombled 35p.
Decluttering:
22 paperwork decisions made yesterday! Okay, so I still have heaps of paper to sort and deal with, but that's 22 I'll never have to do again.
My thankfulness list for the last couple of days: lovely family, DS's success, DS2's g/f fitting in well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

DS2s new GF sounds lovely, glad she’s fitting in well
Coming in under budget what is this strange thing you speak of :rotfl:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Nothing spent yesterday (Sunday 21st) but I've been grocery shopping today and also received the clothes order I sent last week. I think it's all keepers which is handy.
It's been an odd day, weather-wise: very windy and overcast this morning but when the sun got through, very briefly too hot. Now it's a beautiful evening but still a restless wind.
DS2 has been for a job interview this afternoon and thinks it went well, but we haven't seen him since so he's either with his mates or his girl friend. He offered to take me over to work on Mum's old house over the next few days, and to transport some things to my sister's UK base. He's accepted my offer of an ottoman that's in one of the bedrooms: with a bit of doing up it will give him more storage and seating, and it's quite nice to have a bit of my parents' furniture still around. (I have two beautiful little chairs from there and the Grandfather clock, so I'm not deprived, but they have been with us a long time now).
Meanwhile I've made use of my day off to work on the garden (my own this time) and did several lots of clearing. I've almost run out of green bin space for the woody material, with oodles still needing attention, but I can definitely see where I've been which is encouraging.
I may not be back till Thursday /Friday... it seems like a long time put like that but it isn't.
Spending:
Housekeeping £10.08
Household (I bought myself an aluminium water bottle) £6.50
Toiletries £3.90
MS:
Couldn't find the gardening tool I wanted in W!lkos...
10th coin saved 20p
Decluttering:
Lots from the back garden and a bit from the front. The green wheelie bin is full and waiting for DH to take the contents to the garden recycling section at the tip.
Today I'm thankful for time off and getting some of the garden tidied up.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry, cross posted with you there Sun Addict.
The new girlfriend does indeed seem really nice, and as for coming in under budget... nobody else seems to have heard of it either, it must be my imagination. :rotfl:I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Funny how tidying the garden can be so satisfying whereas tidying the house is not ( well not for me anyway!)paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Yay for gardening! And decluttering! Two of my favourite things0

Absolutely!I could cheerfully go and do the same again today (though I've got a blister from so much secateuring) but I have to do three hours of car journey which I'm not looking forward to as it's so hot.
Velvet, I'm with you on the gardening, but I struggle with decluttering though it's satisfying when done. You can pop round and do some for me if you like? Come and have some English summer!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
