When I was in your situation I phoned the Tax Credits office and asked if I could claim as a single person. They asked if my husband was still paying towards the mortgage and bills (he was) and said that in that case we could only claim as a couple.0

Have you considered making him leave? If he only earns £80 a week surely he can't afford to live in the family home by himself. Generally speaking the divorce courts will agree that you and your child should stay in the house.

its very hard to "make " someone leave.You still have to live in the same house until you get a court date etc.If they are violent then help is available if they are just a pain to be with then it is much more difficult.Every day above ground is a good one

stepford wife why dont you leave and privately rent, you might even be entitled to a housing benefit top up, it cant be much fun living as you do at the moment0
