Tesco Bank box insurance conundrum

Hi,
I Have insurance with Tesco, it is black box insurance, I received a call to arrange the fitting of the black box and arranged it for Saturday last weekend. However they have failed to turn up to fit the black box. I understand under their terms and conditions that stopping having the black box fitted means insurance with be cancelled however I have done everything I can to arrange the fitting of the device. I also lost a full Saturday where I could of worked waiting for the fitter to turn up and obviously that never happened.
I am aware that this Sunday is coming up to the 2 week period where the black box must be fitted however it is failure on their part as they have not fitted this box.
My question is that will my insurance be invalid in a accident if i do not have this box fitted, I have done everything they list to arrange fitting and the error is on their part. Also do they have the right to cancel my insurance even though it is not my fault.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Jamie

What did they say when you rang them?0

Due to various issues around missed fitting appointments my son's car didn't have a black box until around 5 weeks after the policy started with Tesco Black Box. They were OK with that, got confirmation in writing via email. The automated emails did eventually start arriving - "you won't be insured if you don't have the box fitted by xx/xx/xx" but again they were fine when I explained we had a fitting date booked in three weeks time.0

Phone them daily and dont ignore the matter. If the try to cancel the policy you can prove it was all their fault and you didnt just ignore the matter.
Make sure you get names of the people you call daily.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for the replies guys. They phoned me the day after I paid for my insurance and we arranged a date for Saturday just gone. I am wondering if to ring and get it arranged or to leave it and wait for them to chase me. thanks for the ideas.0

You need to ring them and keep doing so. The more you post on here worrying about stuff, the longer it is before you flag it up and risk the cancellation.
You agreed a time, the fitter didn't show. Ring and complainSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Don't just sit back and rely on them to chase you. Ring them now and make another appointment (and make a complaint in the process if you wish).0
