Money exchange between current account and currency account

I've got a current account and a usd currency account in same bank. I want to exchange 18k sterling to US dollars from my current account into my currency account but bank exchange rate is no good. What is the best way to exchange my 18k sterling to US Dollars online by another currency dealer, to get best rate and to pay exchanged US Dollars online into my currency account? Bank does not accept cash deposits with currency account. Thanks!

    Use one of the specialist currency transfer firms. Transferwise is one with good feedback. Others are available on Google.

    You can use Revolut for this, exchange at the interbank rate with no fees using their smartphone app. Load GBP to Revolut by debit card or transfer, convert any time weekdays (rate slightly off on weekends), then withdraw to your USD account.
