Hi all
Has anybody used conveyquote.co.uk?
Or can recommend a decent conveyancer for a good price?
Thanks,
Ben

I know this is your 8th post only, but I'm bored.
Do a forum search or just browse the forum for a bit.
This question is asked at least 3 times every week.0 -
Best thing to do is find someone local. You could ask friends or family for recommendations too.
And a good price? Is that the priority? Obviously no one wants to pay over the odds, but I would rather pay more for someone meticulous and efficient, who can work to my timescales. Your choice, of course, but just something to think about.0 -

Having picked the wrong solicitor before, I'd agree with this. The amount of stress one that never answers the phone when you've been ready to exchange for three weeks already is horrendous."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Thank you Kinger101.
To give you a comparison when I bought my last house, my conveyancer would never return calls, ignored emails and did not provide explanations unless pushed. She went on holiday as we were about to exchange (admittedly bad timing), leaving her inept colleague to refuse to look at our file until she returned.
Compare that with this time where my conveyancer replies to emails generally the same day, including sometimes in the evening, takes time to explain legal jargon and is happy to talk on the phone at any time, providing her mobile number in case we need her out of hours. The difference in price, negligible - maybe £150, the difference in service, absolutely miles apart. I don't think I'd ever use anyone else again. Is it really worth scrimping on?0
