Would you apply?!

I saw an interesting job that involves promoting walking amongst the local community.
However...as a fat person I'm not sure I'd be what they are looking for! Would you bother applying?

Promoting walking? Like some kind of public and private transport activist?
Are you asking us if you should bother applying or would anyone else bother?
You can always put a positive spin on anything even if you are "fat". If you got the job you'd soon be "not fat" and it may be encouraging to other people such as yourself to see someone else in a similar predicament managing it just fine.
You might be more successful than some muscly athletic guy yelling at people jogging on the spot like one of those fitness videos.0 -
I'm asking if you were in my situation would you take the time to apply or be of the opinion that your appearance would probably be viewed as a negative?
Its a charity that promotes walking, especially in schools.
I guess I could put a spin on it, but I'm thinking common sense says they want someone passionate about walking and I really don't look that!0 -
If it interests you, apply. I'm overweight and if it was advertised in my area wouldn't hesitate ...0

I think that someone overweight would be ideal for this job. It would be more encouraging for those who it wants to helpLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I hadn't actually thought that it might be more encouraging for the average person. Its true that some people might feel intimidated by a really super fit person.0

I once applied to a gym as sales receptionist as big girl still went for the interview - life is to short. What about the bigger nurses who have to preach to the unconverted and all the rest.
I've a far better offer for you, you could be me; offer of an interview, very local within walking distance, 1k more then current salary, have relative experience, ... Would be mad not to show interest I thought, oh boy do I wish it was next year already and this interview could be practise.
I'd try looking at it in other ways - better hours, money, flexibility, location etc. Then put my best clothes on.0 -
Do you enjoy walking (or could you continuously give the impression you do)?
I would say apply - the worst that can happen is you don't get the job, and that happens with a lot of job applications anyway. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Well as a 'big' girl I've walked from London to Brighton whist also taking part in several moonwalks.0
