Hi! trying to burn some files to playable CD disc for oldish portable CD player for G/F who is in hospital. Files are downloaded in 'VLC forma-MP3' or 'flac'. I tried a couple of 'free' (??!) burners but they put unwanted malware on-anti virus trials that were hard to remove etc (all cleaned perfectly now & gone) OR only burnt a few tracks without making this clear.
Obviously MP3 (I think????!) is more compressed than standard CD tracks (or have I got that totaly wrong?)-I run XP SP3 (I know I know.....!-ancient) & have a built in DVD/CD writer. Any ideas as to which programme I can download? I am aware that windows media player can burn-not used for ages but seem to remember it was 'buggy' & very slow?
Any help would be fab! Also-does 'verify after burn' mean CD tracks checked for errors (soz to be thick!).
Thanks if anyone can help.:beer:

I don't have a problem burning from WMP, never have. I am about 50% of the way through sending all the CD and vinyl music I possess to my NAS. I have about 9GB of music in MP3, at the top 320Kbbs audio rate. Many of the CD's were burned via WMP and I found it great in finding album titles, artistes and artwork. I also discovered some time ago, how to <Select All> for each album and insert titles, Artistes, etc, in one go, from WMP.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
