Thanks, hans 2! I became sick of the profiteering Ancestry.com, this is great, although a learning curve.:)
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Try out Legacy too ... http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/

Standard version is free to use as long as you like, and you can update to the deluxe version any time!

Ancestry/Mackiev appears to have made a big boo boo with it's latest update to Version 2017 in that they have pumped the update out to everyone - no choice given - this update has frozen the sync of ALL of my trees with Ancestry - so I am unable to update any of my trees on FTM !!
Plus, as far as I am aware - those, like myself - who upgraded from FTM 2014 to Mackiev 2014.1 are charged for the upgrade to 2017 - only those who originally paid for Mackiev 2014.1 get the update free !!
So - not only do I have a FTM program that I am unable to use - but I am expected to pay for an update that has killed itself !!
I have complained to Mackiev and see that they are aware already and are "working on a fix".

I'm 'falling out of love' with Ancestry. Seems difficult to move my way round the tree, to print up a decent version without it coming out on 8 sheets of paper ! Plus it keeps freezing somehow.

Same here - I've been with them for 6 years
Have you noticed that the 'find person in tree' button has gone ?

Not something I've used but I'm not surprised. I sometimes wonder how 'robust' their system is.

I agree - it used to be good but since their takeover - it has become extremely ropey.
