Access to past Court Precedents ? (for claimants to obtain.. ?)

A precedent being a past case which was heard in court, by a judge)

If a claimant wants to access a full set of a few precedents (Which they know the name and year of),

how can they get these precedents,
just by as a claimant without a solicitor

any online resources where you can get them?
(which is the full precedent, not just the summary)

Only the precedent is needed, no other task!.

Where can they be obtained by ?
Which websites (for claimants to see)?

Does anyone have access here?
(@any legal professional)

Do you have access to these precedents?
If given the year and name of the precedent, can you access them, or show the site where to get them from?

Are precedents not just those cases where a new point of law is established? I don't think every case heard by a judge would count as a precedent, but I may be wrong.

Establishing new law is an original precedent - where they consider a point of law that hasn't been considered before.

However you also have binding and persuasive precedents. Binding ones are when the case law is in a court that is equal or higher to the one hearing the case then its binding on them to follow the ruling. Persuasive is where the court isn't bound to accept the ruling but they can if they so choose.

If memory serves, county court judgements and the like can only ever be persuasive - they're not binding even at their own level of court.

Recent Supreme Court judgments are available on the Supreme Court's website. Bailii carries most major cases.

For anything else you'd need a law library for a copy of the law report containing the case. They are carried online by services like Westlaw or LexisNexis, but these are expensive and you may not be able to get access unless you are a law firm.
