PPI - is it worth checking my old credit cards?

Hi all,
I finally decided to look into PPI and called up Barclays for an old loan but it had no PPI on it. I have had several credit cards in the past, but I have always transferred balances and had them on interest free deals. So if I didn't spot the balance going up and wasn't using them for normal expenditure, I would surely know if I had PPI on them wouldn't I? It would appear as a charge on the statement? And that would have stood out a mile off when I used to keep track of my balances going down as I paid them off.
I'm thinking at this point to go through a CMC company just to try my luck in case I've missed anything as I have nothing to lose and going through each one when I'm 99.5% sure they never had PPI seems a bit of a waste of time.
Any thoughts?

First thought is how will the CMC know which credit cards you had unless you tell them?0

Correct. The balance would increase with the PPI being a transaction if you had it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
