In 1988 and 1992 I purchased two motorbikes and both were subject to finance and both had PPI. I also purchased motorcycle clothing at what was then called Motorcycle City with the same finance company. They were a huge outfit, a household name but I can't for the life of me recall their name can anybody help?

If you bought from a bike dealership they don't need to consider your complaint as they weren't regulated until 2005. The issue is miss-sale so chasing the finance provider may well be a hiding to nothing unless the provider had a staff member in the dealership doing the work, if it was sold by the dealership staff then the finance provider has no liability and don't have to consider the complaint either
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
