Not in the right post code for Disabled Facilities Grant

Options
On behalf of a friend - Our council has said it only gives people entitled to Disabled Facilities Grant if they live in certain post codes due to funding. Do other councils do this and is there anything she can do about it?
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.

I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.

Of course they do. Many councils have different criteria for many things. Social care, Council Tax Support as well as Disability Grants.
It all depends how much money they have left in the kity

As far as I know, council's have to provide Disabled Facilities Grant if the person is assessed as being eligible and needing it. They have no choice about whether they have the money or not.

Are you sure its just to do with their income or savings, as it is means tested? Have you spoken to an Occupational Therapist, as they would need to refer you as needing the adaption.

Even health authorities choose where they will help.

There was story in local and national papers about a man with various ailments, who said he wanted a gastric band, which would help to reduce the impact of his diseases and his specialist agreed. However, though the patients from two 'health districts' used the same hospital, he was living in the district which would not fund the operation.

He got his wish though, after lots of media attention.
