Hi,

I'm shortly (hopefully) going to be redecorating the front room which has a lot of previously painted skirting as well as 3 doors . I know these need sanding down but has anyone used the liquid sandpaper as opposed to the old way (with elbow grease)?

I've used something called ESP ( Easy Surface Prep ) before when tarting up an old chest of drawers, it worked pretty well.

But for skirting boards I'd be tempted to stick to sandpaper. You don't need to remove the existing paint, just a light sanding to provide a key to paint onto, it'll not take long to do.

Thanks Ebe Scrooge...it's not the work I'm bothered about..I. Thinking of using the newer water based glosses which I don't think key that well on a surface previously painted in oil gloss.
