Hi everyone,
A friend of mine has received a parking charge notice in the post from Parking Eye for parking for 13 minutes on DW Sports in Wigan.
She took her son to free running, parked on car park in the dark, entered reception and eventually booked her son in, she asked about parking and was told she was parked on chargeable car park.
She moved her car and was sent this charge notice which was received 11 days after the event.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

all explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum, above your thread , please read it
there was up to say 10 minutes grace to either pay or leave, so any appeals wont be based on that , but on other legal arguments which are also in there
ideally she should get the MA or landholder to cancel it
and the vehicle was not "parked" for 13 minutes, it was clocked as "on site" for 13 minutes , because the cameras measure time on site , not "parking time"0 -
Letter sent to Dw but no answer yet and no answer from Parking Eye!0

Parking Eye for parking for 13 minutes
Grace periods apply, the keeper who received that letter needs to assertively point this out to ParkingEye, quoting Kelvin Reynolds from the BPA (search the forum to find his article). And pointing out that the car park was dark and the car was moved as soon as the previously unknown parking restrictions were mentioned by the Sports Centre, where the driver's young son was booked in and dropped off as a genuine patron (prove the free running booking, get PROOF).Now received LBA to pay within 14 days
Email the proof of patronage urgently this week:
enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk
Finish by asking for a POPLA code if they do not cancel. Get the proof of the free running booking (an email or a photocopy or written confirmation from DW) first in person by standing there holding up the queue and insisting, it is vital to this response and should stop a court claim so don't try a half-baked attempt. Do exactly as advised.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

sadly the three companies are all separate ....
The DW gym building is linked to the Power League building (which now houses the 'free running ' ) but is a totally different company.
they all used to belong to the same company but where sold off...
the Power league / soccerdome do try to warn people of the change from the old free parking change ..... and have left word of where to go for help ...
