Reclaiming PPI without any paperwork or details

Hi All,

I have resisted the urge to reclaim as I have no paperwork at all and simply cannot remember all my cards and loans and mortgages that I have had.

I have had quite a few down the years and wanted to find out ways how I can trace any details down. I am tempted to go to a reclaim company but I do not not want to pay out 30% to them if I can do it myself.

1) - How far can I claim back without any paperwork?
2) - Is there any way I can find out what cards, loans, etc I had just by using my previous addresses? I have tried via the 3 credit agencies to see what is on record but nothing over 6 years old.
3) - How do I find out what company has taken over another companies responsibilities? For example, I had a car loan from a bank that no longer exists so where do I go to check if PPI was mis-sold?

Your credit files will show you agreement from the last years. Anything else will need to be sourced from your memory or filing cabinet.

You will need to write to those who you believe mis sold you PPI, with your complaint reasons.

If you use a claims company, then will ask you to go through the above steps, and then give them half of any redress.
