And normal for them to reject it if you're still in negotiations for another property. Speak to your solicitor if you're uncertain about what order you ought to be doing things in.0 -
We aren't in negotiations we have withdrawn but the estate agent wanted us to wait for the results Of The comprehensive survey. I'm assuming it's incase we change our mind based on the results.
Thanks for the advice, I've now submitted a formal offer through our solicitor.LBM: 09/12/2008
[strike]£36000[/strike] £0 on 4 cards and a personal loan. Debt Remedy. Signed with CCCS on 14/01/2009 started Feb 2009. Finished March 2016
Lessons learned and facing the struggle have made my life better than I ever thought it could be. Thank you Stepchange and DFW forum :beer:0 -
In that case, I'm not sure what the difference is between "withdrawn" and "completely withdrawn"? If your solicitor had formally withdrawn your first offer that ought to be the end of it.depressed_but_determined wrote: »We aren't in negotiations we have withdrawn0 -
Estate agents are a law unto themselves. Mr S and I were house-hunting some years ago and just happened to spot a house we liked the look of. The 'sale' sign specified viewings by appointment only, so we popped into the EA to book an appointment. All went well until the EA asked how far we were in respect of selling our own home - and we said we were first time buyers (bearing in mind the advice that service personnel shouldn't advertise the fact that they lived in married quarters for security reasons). The shutters came down, and she said that the vendors were away on holiday but that she would ring us to arrange a viewing. We never heard a dicky bird from her. A couple of months later, after we had committed to a new build 4 bedroom property, a colleague of my husbands was complaining about not being able to sell his house before his imminent posting away from the area. Yes, it was the house we had asked to view. The chap asked the EA why we hadn't been given the chance to view his property - and was told that as the house was a 4 bedroom and we were first time buyers we were obviously 'time wasters'.0
