Buying private car help please

Spoke to my insurers, they cannot continue to cover the old car, as soon as I collect the new car the insurance swaps over so no joy there.
I'm going to leave it, I will not be using the old car at all and it will not be on the road. It will be collected at lunchtime on Sunday so will be for 24 hours.
It would be different had I needed to drive it but as it won't be going anywhere, from what I can gather the worst that will happen will be I get a letter.
But my insurers will not know what time I pick my new car up so technically they finish cover at 23:59 Saturday, and the new owners policy commences at 00:00 Sunday so it will not be uninsured.
Also hats off to Lloyds, as I am in the last month of my policy they didn't charge me an admin fee for swapping over0
