Help with TV setup please

Hi.

I'm probably going to cancel my Sky subscription due to the price, so I'm looking for alternatives. My requirements are:
  • A Now TV subscription so I can get Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, etc
  • A DVR so I can record
  • Preferably not need an aerial (and just use my Sky dish)
  • Preferably use just one device, for ease

I thought I'd sussed it with this BT Youview+ box, then realised it won't work with a Sky satellite (as far as I can see).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Whats the DVR for ? For recording obviously but what exactly ?

The Youview box uses a broadband connection.

A freesat box uses the satellite dish.

How much is the kids subscription for Now TV ?

A Youview box uses terrestrial broadcasts as well as internet, so requires a standard TV aerial which the OP does not have or want.

The fault was I didn't delve too much into it, I forgot it uses an ariel as well as a broadband connection.

Cancel tv, let it go off and see what they offer. You can still use the sky box to watch free channels like BBC, ITV etc, but not record.

This won't be possible for newer Q customers, as the box remains Sky's, so has to be returned.

If you get no deal and need to record, then consider a Humax Freesat box , with or without catchup or one of the newer smart Now boxes if you want Sky content, catchup , pause/rewind live tv, but no recording.
