Mailing list software

A friend has asked me about managing their list of contacts that they then send out periodic newsletters to and it struck me that this is similar to the Moneysaving emails you send out. I was wondering, what software do you use for doing this as it could well be the answer for them.

We've been through different mailing software. What we use now is quite specialised. As we email to well over a million people in less than 24 hours - and i doubt this solution would be applicable to your friend (unless they're running a mammoth site). There are lots of easy to use mail programmes (many free ware) which should do the trick - best place to ask is the Techie boardMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I'm a freelance marketer and have tried many different mailing tools, some free and some paid for. Currently I use Campaign Monitor for smaller campaigns (up to about 50 000 emails per month) It's really easy to use and inexpensive, it costs $5 fore each campaign and $0.01 per email, which is great with the current US exchange rate.
The best thing about it is the reports:
- It allows you to see exactly who and hasn't opened your emails so you can send follow up emails of you wish
- The usual open rates, click rates, unsubscribes etc.
- Can see which links have been clicked
- When each email was opened so you can gauge the best time to send in future.
- Who has forwarded your email to friends (if you enable that option).
And much more. Other marketers seem to be happy with Aweber but I've not given it a go yetAndy J0
