New PCN appeal - Response received

Hi, I'm new and have read the newbie section.

I received a ticket on windscreen the other day while I was dropping off some dishes to a friends flat, he even gave me a visitors permit but I wasn't in a bay. I was on a curb, no yellow lines or any markings.

15 minutes later I get a ticket, seen the photos (I did actually park underneath a UKPC sign) but I was facing the opposite way and never noticed it.) Anyway, I'm tempted to appeal straight away but read I should wait till day 26.

So I plan to do the following....day 26 write the appeal based on the newbies thread as the registered keeper (do I still include info about the sign, even tho its in the photos?). Then when I get my rejection letter I will appeal to POPLA.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

It's not a letter. Appeal online to UKPC at day 26, not saying who was driving.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I received a respnse today from the UKPC appeal (as per Newbies thread) asking for details of the driver before sending a POPLA code...

In order to make a final decision regarding your appeal, please can you provide the drivers full name & address to our Appeals Department within 14 days of the date of this letter.
Please note we must liaise with the driver directly and by not providing the driver's details you will be accepting liability for the parking charge...

Failure to provide this information will give us no alternative other than to make our final decision based on the previous information received, at this stage a POPLA verification code will be provided.

Then says to not ignore this letter

"PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER. UKPC REGULARLY TAKES MOTORISTS TO COURT WHO IGNORE THEIR PARKING CHARGES."

Advice would be greatly appreciated. Do I send driver's details? Is this a standard response?

    Thanks

Yes, but you are so much better off reading other UKPC threads to be ready for this rubbish, rather than asking here where it may have been missed.

You should search the forum for the phrase 'UKPC no alternative driver POPLA' (and change the default search for 'this forum' to 'show posts' NOT 'SEARCH THREADS') you will find this covered dozens of times.

Of course you don't give the driver's details.

    IGNORE THAT LETTER
