What does 'verify electronically' mean? AFAIK credit bureau and other public sources can be sued to verify address, the existence or not of a given account, but not income. Can't the bank look at the pay slips, look at the banking statements, and verify they match?
Don't get me wrong, I am sure you have done all you could with the bank; I am asking simply to learn how this process works, since I have never come across it myself.0 -
From what I've read, credit reference agencies do keep track of other info not shown on your credit report, such as salaries. These will be fed to them by the bank that your salary is paid into.0

I find it ironic that this country was up in arms against the introduction of id cards for privacy reasons etc, yet no one seems to mind that the surveillance of GCHQ seems way more extensive than the surveillance in those countries which do have id cards; similar story for credit reference agencies, which seem to collect way more data here than in continental Europe. Weird concept of privacy!

You would think, eh? It seems completely mad if you ask me. He has given a full breakdown of his pay to LBS - (hr confirmed this for him) he had previously used a broker and used the figures they put down when applying before and it turns out it is about £450 more than he actually earns so that may be why. We heard nothing back at all today though which is slightly worrying as we were hoping they may say " nope, we can't do this". Whereas saying nothing leaves us in doubt.
What I don't get is can't they just use the figures on the payslips and bank statements (which still puts him past afforability) if his employer wont confirm?0 -
There is an anomaly and the Lender wants it resolved. Failure to address this leaves them exposed with the Regulator.I am a Mortgage Broker

Now he has sent over an email with the amended amounts will they pick it up?
He sent a written request to HR today to release the information.0 -
put in a written request, had his manager sign it to say it was coming from him, on RM headed paper and faxed from a RM fax machine and this morning have been told they can not breach policy and can not confirm this information . Manager has assured him that they are not getting rid of him or anything and the only thing he can think of is it was discussed increasing his hours in April! That wouldn't affect the here and now though!0

Do you know if the Royal Mail HR has ever confirmed this for other employees?
Maybe the bank got suspicious because it received confirmation from other employees, so is wondering why Royal Mail wouldn't confirm anything in your case?0
