Best Type of Paving For Patio?

As you said sandstone is porous but if you use a sealer then you should have no problems. The vitrified looks like a good product but is close to £50M2 compared to just over £20 for sandstone.0

Watching this with interest myself - as I'll have to do this at some point (ie when I can afford it).0

"Best type of paving for patio?"
There is no best type of patio paving. How can you possibly know what is best. Particularly with the huge variation in prices. Some types are going to be better than others when their particular uses are considered. IE appearance, wear, surface friction, weight. and cost etcAll your question will do is to create a series of random opinions. Every one will have their own idea of what's best based on their personal experience, and at the end you will still not actually know "what's best".

so you're saying I shouldn't even attempt to understand what type of paver will be best for me? If that's the case then better close 95% of the threads on MSE as you could argue the same!
Simply looking for opinions and experiences to help me use my own brain to figure out what's best for me, not asking for a magic answer.
Already I have value from this thread as I hadn't considered vitrified paving until now.0
