You can try putting your occupation down as something other than unemployed, like "house husband/wife"

Managed some special pleading with my broker & them with my underwriter.
Because it was a redundancy and because i'm actively looking for work and i've been with them for years they managed to insure me for a very reasonable £500 a year with a capped mileage of 5000 miles. Happy days
When i done a quote with them before they refused to quote because it was online only and as a new customer.
They seem to have a bit of extra powers though if you've been with them for years and only discovered that when i called up.

5k miles might not seem a lot but even when i do get another job, i won't need to use it for commuting.

Great outcome. Glad they worked something out for you.

I was about to suggest trying some brokers actually. They can be very useful in cases like this

Be very careful with this. If you are in receipt of jobseekers then you are unemployed. Manipulating your occupation incorrectly would cause you far more problems than it's worth...
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
