Need Cheap Laptop for student

Options
Hi,
I have a decent desktop computer but am wanting a cheap reliable laptop too to take into uni with me etc. Anyone got any good sites to look?

Comments

  • Heres a couple

    Ebuyer
most a bit short on ram for use with Vista , so factor in some extra memory

    DELL
I recently got a dual core, 120GB, 2GB Vostro 1000 from them for £380ish for my sons uni course
Plus you can opt for XP or Vista

There is also an ongoing thread here on the same subject

Not specific to your question, but I'll chuck it in here anyway ... may be of use/interest to other students

A recommendation I gave him was to use Google Docs for his course work - it has word processor and spread sheets
This way no data is stored on your laptop which might crash / get stolen etc
Don't need to worry about Back up
Plus you can access the data from any internet connected PC on campus or elsewhere
Plus you can go back to an earlier version of a document
Maybe some downsides, I'm not aware of yet, but seems a ideal way for a student to manage their info

and then click on Docs under communicate and share
