Recall replacement

Morning

My Meriva had the second service on Friday when I was told that Vauxhall had done a recall for the seatbelt pretensioner ( R/2015/201) and that the work would be done following the service - all good.

Now that I am back home I've noticed that I've been charged £28 plus VAT for this work.

As I'm not clear about this I'd appreciate some sharing of knowledge - should a recall replacement / repair not be done at the expense of the manufacturer? Or do I bear the cost? It's not so much about the £28 but the principle!

    If the only work that was done was the recall, then - yes - it should be FOC. What does the invoice say?

    Agree, I've never been charged following a recall or product enhancement notice. Have you spoken to the service centre about it?

    I'll go and find the exact wording though I know the price is shown as £28.30 and not shown being taken off.

    Thanks - I've been out all day and just arrived home so will speak to them tomorrow, just wanted to be sure.

    Before I had a chance to call the dealer this morning they called me to apologise, so a refund is coming my way.
