Which underlay is best?

Have sourced a carpet for the bedroom and stairs and picked a 6mm thick underlay from Carpetright (a multicoloured flat sponge type one - it looks like recycled materials)

Spoke to a friend in work and he said its not very good, and to try and get the older style, green underlay, is this right?

We plan to stay in this home for a long time so ideally want the best we can get

Unless you're running a knocking shop a bedrooms not a high traffic area.

We chose Cloud 9 for all the carpets, makes a big difference to underfoot as well as the carpet.

Dont buy underlay from carpetright, that's where they make their profits.

Look up underlay online. Same stuff but a lot cheaper. You'll be surprised!
