Electric Showers and Shower Enclosures

Hi,
I am planning a down stairs ensuite bathroom including a shower, the bathroom showroom has recommended a quadrant shower enclosure with an electric shower (as the hot water feed from the boiler is a little tricky in terms of pipe work routeing). I'm looking for advice on two things :
- We have reasonable pressure from the roof tank (gravity fed system), assuming we could sort the pipe work, would I get a better or worse hot water pressure from the boiler system (15mm pipe feed) versus a 10Kw electric shower?
- My only experience of shower enclosures is my sisters which seems to leak on a regular basis from the tray and a friend who has a similar problem with their shower tray. Is there an ideal specification I can give to the plumber which will ensure the shower enclosure is water tight?

many thanks
