Replacing Asbestos soil pipe

As above I need to replace the soil pipe and the drain pipe from basin of upstairs bathroom.
Could anyone give me a clue as to what sort of costs I am looking at? I realize I will have to get Asbestos specialists to do the job.
Also, a major worry is that the soil pipe is embedded in a concrete/pebble path.
Will I also have to factor in the price of a new path as well?

I can't give a price for this, but I would suggest you try a number of asbestos removers.
when I was getting an asbestos roof removed from my shed last year, the prices varied enormously, so it's really worthwhile shopping around.0 -
You do NOT need specialists to remove the pipe !!
But all the asbestos police will be along shortly............

Any advice on the issue of the pavement?
I really can't see any other way they could replace the soil pipe without destroying the path0 -
To save having to replace them, is it possible to put a liner in the existing ones?0

It is the outside of the pipe that that I have a problem with.
Several layers of paint are flaking (don't think I should be sanding it down to repaint) but the bit at the top of pipe where there is a join is covered in moss and there is a bit that's broken and ready to fall off.
Would is safe to cut the moss off and sand the flaking paint?0 -

Correct, but you need someone with an asbestos licence to diipose of it and leave you with the right paperwork. The removal part is very cheap but disposal costs can be expensive.0 -

Our recycling centre accepts pipes and gutters as long as they are double-bagged in heavy gauge polythene and sealed with tape. It doesn't cost anything.0 -

Then perhaps it depends on where you live as my council does not.
So the first step should be to check local council arrangements.0 -
