There is a row of fruit and veg shops down a street in marchmont, edinburgh.
Its not far from the sick kids hospital , i think the road is called Gillespie Place. There is about 4 shops there selling fruit and veg. Stocks your normal stuff, but also more exotic items that you might not find at the supermarkets. And all very fresh.

Pat`s Chung Ying on Lothian road in Edinburgh is well stocked and good prices whether you want to buy small amounts or wholesale sized packs.

See Woo beside the Glasgow Angling Centre, at
Possil Park is well worth a visit - my kids love to go take a
look at the live seafood tanks while I do the shopping.
The range is huge but some of the prices are a wee bit
more than Dobbies Loan but it usually evens out both
    ways.

As you can see we like our Asian and Oriental Food and
I`m of course always on the look out for a bargain.

Oh! one of the things we use a lot of is the Thai Curry Paste
it comes in 4 or 5 different curries and we use dried coconut powder
with it - we use about 1 tbsp paste from a large tub - the tub does
approximately 20 curries and retails at just over £1 - easy to make
    and tasty authentic results.

There are also a few dotted about Great Western Rd.,
    Glasgow.

Oh what brand of curry paste is it???
I love thai curries, but the jar stuff dont taste the same.
Sounds so easy to do. Never seen dried coconut powder b4, do the chinese supermarkets sell it too.

The instant noodles are lovely too. Once you try them you will never eat a pot noodle or super noodles again. Warning some are pretty spicy!!!:silenced:
Some of the packet ones are instant and can be cooked with no pan needed.
Place noodles in a bowl with soup base, cover with boiling water and cover with a plate. After 3 mins stir and enjoy!!!!!

  • There is a website that sells this kind of stuff quite cheap too. Its called wingyipstore.co.uk

Although delivery is 5.99 but worth it if you stay out of the way like i do about 40 miles from the nearest place. The Mama Instant Rice Vermicelli Shrimp Flavour are my personal favourite.

    Hope this helps :p
  • There is a great wee shop on Gorgie Road.... between Stewart Terrace & Robertson Avenue.... great for Indian spices & Fresh herbs
    £3000 Holiday/Car Target.... £180
