Reported ID theft - how long before action?

On 10 Jan, I found that I had been a victim of ID fraud - someone had bought 4(!) iPhones using my name and address.
I reported it to Barclays Partner Finance (with whom the agreement had been taken out). They asked me to sign a disclaimer, and said they would remove the accounts and related credit searches.
Today, I get 2 letters demanding payment on the accounts. I called Barclays who told me the letter was audtomated and to ignore it (which sounds like poor advice to me).
How long should this take to resolve? I see that the accounts and searches are still on my credit file.

You could send a letter asking for an update or even call them if you like.0

I`d be prepared for the long haul if i were you.
These type of events seldom get sorted to anything like the customers satisfaction.
There have been posts on here of debts, mainly payday loans, obtained by fraud, and reported at the time, coming back years later, chased by some bottom feeder DCA, who just wasn't interested in the background, just the money.
My advice would be to keep written evidence of everything that happens in regard to this, then keep it some were safe, as you never know when these things will pop up again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
