We will have to agree to differ i'm afraid.
While i agree that food can and does change mood, that is all it changes. It does not reset different wiring in the brain from ND to NT.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -

It isn't me you're disagreeing with.
Why not look at the research and watch the video before being so dismissive?
There are links to pages where people have said the same as you....they dismiss any mention of diet being a cause for these disorders.
Why is that?0 -

Edit.
I've done research with regards to diet for both Autism and some Auto immune conditions (my daughter has Graves and my son Aspergers), and i'm sorry i dont find the evidence provided to be conclusive enough (i'm being polite) to be persuasive.
You do, thats fine, as i said, i'll agree to differ.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -

It doesn't annoy me in the slightest,
I too used to be in your position and would scoff at any mention that diet caused the illnesses I and my family had.
I ate healthily (or so I was led to believe by those who know) Never any processed foods, always lots of fruit and veg etc.
It was only when my husband was diagnosed with RA that I began to think "Why are so many people getting ill? Why are so many people plagued with things like depression, autism, adhd?"
So I researched and researched medical papers, clinical trials, doctors reports, anything I could find. Along with it I researched how the human body works right down to mitochondria and how the health of those affects everything we do.
Everything pointed to one thing and one thing only.....Diets.
You might have researched and then dismissed it as nonsense....but did you actually put it to test?
Is it not worth it to you to try cutting out gluten, dairy, soy etc just to see for yourself?
I've come across lots of people say the same as you, but they haven't actually tried it.
It's very disappointing, not annoying.0 -

Yes.
End of!
And i'm sorry, but RA is NOT Autism or Graves even if it is Auto Immune, with both there is a huge spectrum, if it works for you (or your husband) great, but it isnt going to work for everybody as not everybody is identical or WIRED the same.
I'm sorry you find it dissapointing, us unbeleivers think the same of you, TBH!
I'm sure your going to tell me how i am wrong to think the way i do, by all means carry on, just know however that when reading it i shall be rolling my eyes.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -
AD - my understanding was that Edward was referring to the other poster, not you.
I am a medic but not in this field, and do not claim to know the latest research beyond a top level reading of articles that I find interesting; I have family members with ASD.
I have commented on other threads that I find a blithe certainty from one or 2 posters that all medical problems can be cured with diet to be troubling. If it works for you: great! Your experience is valuable and worth sharing. But it is extremely narrow-minded to extrapolate that what improved your life will fix everyone else with their different circumstances. It is also very crass and insensitive to insist that diet is a cure-all, as the next logical step would be that if you don't follow the diet correctly then your illness is your fault. This is unhelpful, damaging, and wrong.0 -

I repeat, who are you to dicatate what can and cannot be written on a forum, and indeed what information is relevant or not to any OP.
I see from your past postings that you have a yellow card already, maybe its you who needs to moderate yourself.
If this board is not to your likeing in the way threads progess or present themselves down the line, and the moderating style not to your liking, either find one that is, or make your own.
Now i have your measure i shall reply to you no more.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0
