  • This is probably of not much help to you but I was also told to go bankrupt by debt counsellors and even though all my debts are currently managed by Debt Collection agencies I have managed to stay afloat by selling everything that I could get my hands on on ebay and by getting an extra part time job and I have now moved from the point where I thought that I would drown in debt to the point where I can see an end date to it all. Admittedly I do not do much with my free time and will not be doing much for the next few years but at least now there is an end in sight. :D

  • Hi,
Welcome to the site. According to my figures you are overspending by £100.04 per week, excluding food. You cannot afford to eat in the current situation.

Bankruptcy may very well be the best option for you, particularly as you are renting; it's not such a bad thing. I suggest you call CCCS for advice, showing them these figures. My CC repayments assume a 5% fixed repayment. Paying anything less than this is futile and only lines the banks' pockets more and increases your stress levels.

    Good luck, the figures:
