pc not recognising cd's

    the program that worked for me was this - https://www.powerdatarecovery.com/power-data-recovery.htm
    link takes you to the windows download but click on products at the top of the page and you can opt for mac. you are allowed 1GB of free recovery. the program is called mini tool power data recovery.
    i hope this helps others.
