That map has been knocking around for years, you can pick it up in a lot of central london stations
What is also useful is the 'walking distance' tube map - for many routes it is quicker to walk than get the tube.

However, some stations on different lines can be close together. E.g. Paddington is only a 5 minute walk from Lancaster gate - but it would take ages to go between the two of them on the tube.
So here's a map for that - http://now-here-this.timeout.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/walkmap.gif0 -
If you're going into Charing Cross, it's a pretty simple and not too time consuming walk, and the most moneysavinging route. Half hour according to Google Maps.
Along the Strand, carry straight on up Fleet Street and hang a left into Fetter Lane. Brings you out dead opposite the south end of Hatton Garden.0 -
Here a another one. To be honest, if you are staying the day you may as well put CityMapper on your mobile

One word of warning. The buses in London do not take cash. You will need either an oyster card (available from train/tube stations and corner shops cost £10 per person, and you cant share it by tapping in twice), touch credit/debit card or daily Travelcard ticket (available from train/tube stations). Also if the station still has a manned cash counter, they often close early.
Warning 2: if you have a paper card especially from a rail station, sometimes machines will suck these cards in permanently and leave you stranded without transport. Help is usually around to open up the machine and retrieve the card.
Come early, abuse the travel card0
