Are there any underfloor heating systems that don't require excavation ?

Options
I want to install underfloor heating. Currently have a concrete floor. The height of the rooms is ok but not great - I can't afford to lose any height. I've been told the only way to install undefloor heating without losing height is to 'dig out' the floor to accomodate it - that'll cost too much. So are there any systems that don't add too much height that can be laid direct on to the concrete ?

  • Have just been looking this up myself and the only real alternative I can see is the electric underfloor heating which is run with a thermostat. This is on a wire mesh and lays directly on top of a concrete floor.
    1% challenge - £4018 - reduce by 100 payments of £41.

A wet system will need at least 2.5 inches, could you afford to lose this height ?

A wet system ? Do you mean a system of water pipes ie hot water being the underfloor heating ?

Are these the 'mats' of meshed wires I see advertised on places ike ebay ? Have you come across any companies that sell larger systems like for an entire flat, in your travels ? Thanks
