Life insurance - losing anything going through a broker?

Hi all,
As part of my mortgage review I'm probably changing life insurance policy as well. What I wasn't sure of was losing out in things like cashback or other benefits that I might otherwise get.
I checked the proposed insurer recommended by the broker doesn't seem to be on cashback sites anyway but just worried I could miss out on extra cash by not going direct myself?

Going through a professional you will receive indemnified advice. If you go direct and !!!! something up resulting in refusal of a claim then tough luck. If a broker makes a mistake, you can hold them accountable.
You will generally have access to more companies through a broker, so potentially a better premium. Also a lot of online companies will strip out elements of cover in order to return a cheaper premium, so it may be a case of buying Tesco Value Beans vs Heinz. When it comes to insurance, cheap is not good.
For the sake of £30 sweetener, I know what I would choose.0 -
