Good morning all very quickly, I am late to go! Had clock at 7, fell asleep again, bummer. Have skimmed thread but no time to reply properly. Just wanted to wish you all a good day. The sun is shining and Doris seems to have gone! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Morning everyone,
Bright and sunny here today after yesterday's storm, quite a bit colder though and the heating has kicked in.
Judi can only echo Jackie's wise words, personally I have found this forum extremely supportive over the last few months, it's a way to vent feelings and fears that perhaps we are reluctant to voice to our loved ones. If there is someone reading along who is going through the same problems it may give them the courage to unburden. Strength to you m'dear and please take care of yourself in all this.
Need to get through some chores this morning than am meeting my other SIL for lunch, lovely as that means have seen both of them in past couple of days
Will pick up a few bits on the way home, eggs, cheese etc and that should see us through the weekend.
Sorry that the news was a bit up and down yesterday TA.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -

Have a great day whatever you are up to0 -
Morning chums,
I was struggling to get up the hill on my street this morning. Snow began to melt last night and with freezing temperatures meant it was just ice.
Road works on the M8 still adding on a lot of time to my journey, even at 6am. No fun.
No plans for tonight. My team are playing and it's on BT Sports (which I don't have) so I need to find out how to watch it without it ruining my NSD.
I've got soup defrosting for dinner tonight.
TA - very healthy indeed, well done!
Judi - it can be pleasantly surprising to find out that you're not in challenging times alone. I think everyone here would agree, that this little daily thread is a safe way to vent.
Jackie - Well said. I love your posts, they always seem so insightful and full of wisdom.0 -
Morning, it is my day off and a lot nicer than yesterday, though cold. The storm blew down some debris which killed a woman in the next town along, dreadful for her family. Here we had no local trains, so most people used the bus but lots must have got people to come and collect them after work because the roads were clogged. Quite a few trees blew down. Very locally, the neighbour's dustbin blew over and there was an unidentified flying laundry basket in the road and possibly some branches, may go for a walk about later.
TA I am sorry the news was mixed for you.
Judi, I just wish I knew how to support you but I suspect that you are in one of those horrible situations that simply has to work itself out until your son is ready to accept help. I hope that will happen.
I'm off to do FridayThings.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
I decided to walk into town to get a new food waste bin from the council as mine had blown away, I looked for it yesterday but no joy, I'd walked halfway there (about quarter of a mile) when I spotted said bin by a friend's house.0

Judi
I think sharing your worries and woes often helps others inadvertently.
I was surprised to know how many people actually read/lurk on this thread without posting. Not that theres anything wrong with that, it just shows how popular the Daily thread is and how important it is to keep posting our problems and daily struggles.Judi, I think most of us post personal things on here, in my case no-one I know irl reads the daily or knows my user name so I feel quite safe.
Unfortunately i'm not that anonymous. I attended the first MSE meet of 2003 (i think it was). A handful of people know me in real life and i was a board guide on here for some years with dear Squeaky. Unfortunately the forum team dont change user names on request so i'm stuck with the name i chose all those years ago. My profile picture is a dead giveaway too.:rotfl:
TA, i'm sorry that the news you received at the hospital wasnt exactly what you hoped for but take comfort in knowing it could have been worse. Much worse. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi everyone
We have lovely sunshine here after the rain and gales of yesterday. I have my bedding on the line and the towels in washing. My daughter in Amsterdam skyped last night to say the weather had been horrendous there...she has to cycle home from the station and had to get off and push as she couldn't pedal against the wind. She said there were abandoned bikes by the cycle paths where people must have just given up! Then another message this morning to say she hadn't slept as it felt like the whole building was going to take off ( It's made from recycled storage containers ) and the canal outside her window had waves! Its calmed down this morning though so she could ride her bike again.
Going out for lunch with youngest DD today so that will be nice and then need a little bit shopping. Don't need a full shop this week as the freezers are quite full and I'm trying not to overspend.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one......feeling rotten again this morning, not happy I have cancelled our lunch on Sunday, will see how I am next Tuesday might go to the local hospice coffee shop for tea and cake instead. I am so fed up with feeling rubbish, I hope the anti b's work ok and I can get back to not having to get up to pee in the night.
OH is outside clearing the debris from the storm, the greenhouse is broken up in the bin, I hope they take it away ok, do not feel like trailing into the tip.
I have been watching James martin's french adventure cooking round France, he has cooked several of my favourite chicken dishes which I have not cooked for ages, once I get my mojo back I will be cooking some of them again. Have also watched the Hairy Bikers Chicken and egg programme too. I need to get to a butchers and get a jointed chicken. I used to do them myself, but my hands are so bad not I find it very difficult.
TA sorry to hear the appointment yesterday was not all good news. fingers crossed they can find further treatment that will work.
Will be taking it easy again today.....fish, wedges and peas for supper tonight. OH will be chef. He is also doing cheese on toast at lunchtime, under supervision of course.0 -
Back from car service with a much lighter purse! Major service plus two new front tyres, turns out they were both completely bald. something to do with the car bein g diesel, potholes, metalled rough roads and low profile something or other. 20,000 miles = bald tyres. They looked pretty bad so I'm pleased I didn't postpone the service as I almost did this morning.
All the TV points in DMs place are now retuned, it's only taken four weeks, ranty emails, rangy phone calls to the project manager and the site contractor who have, to be fair, tried their best to get the bloke back out.
Yesterday when water came in the close from the roof workmen came put within half an hour of the email from my mum and sorted it. It's now a month since the work started, only three months left!
Now I have to eat something, missed breakfast and feel a bit faint from hunger. Haven't felt that way for years!
