Car insurance write off value more than settlement figure!
Comments
-
A few years back when I had a car written off, I was very unhappy with the settlement figure offered by my insurer. I scoured AutoTrader and the local classified website for adverts of the same model / year car as mine within a 50 mile radius, and I was able to prove that I could not buy a replacement for anywhere near the figure they had offered me. As a 'goodwill gesture' they increased their offer by 5 percent which in my case was an extra couple of hundred pounds. It's a bit of hassle to do and with no guaranteed result but you might find that by spending half an hour or so gathering evidence you could get a result.0
