Civil Enforcement Ltd sent N1SDT claim from, what now?

Hi All
My son got a parking invoice thing a long time ago for parking on private land. It's a bit of scrubland and he didn't look or notice any signs. I recalled it being an unofficial invoice and not a PCN, so told him to ignore it and not reply.
Eventually we got a couple of letters from Wright Hassell (seriously!) asking for increasing amounts and we duly ignored those too.
Today we received a N1SDT claim form from Civil Enforcement Ltd for £254.57 amount claimed, plus £25 court fee plus £50 legal representative cots given a total of £329.57. I've searched a bit on here and read barge poles thread, but I'm still not sure how to proceed!:o I'm annoyed that they charged us £60 to park on scrub but it is someone's land and now I feel both guilty and dumb for telling him to ignore it. Can we defend this, or is it time to admit defeat and pay up?
Many thanks.

are you sure its from CEL ?
it should be from the Northampton bulk centre (government) on behalf of the claimant
the bargepole thread does explain what to do regarding acknowledging it and what to do next etc (court is never a simple process)
what you or he do is your choice not ours , its either pay up or fight
but first is check where the paperwork came from etc , make sure its all genuine
WH are real solicitors, yes , you couldnt make it up , could you ?0 -
CEL are the claimant. It's in the. Linty court business centre, 4th floor, St Katherine's House, 21-27 St Katherine's House Northampton, NN1 2LH. Sorry I can't seem to get a picture of the letter posted?0

yep, like I said , the claim form is from the government centralised bulk centre in Northampton (it says so on the top right), on behalf of the claimant which is CEL
so no you did not receive it today from CEL , its from Northampton court centre
IF YOU ARE GOING TO DEFEND IT , THE PERSON NAMED ON THE FORM MUST DO SO BY FOLLOWING WHAT THAT NEWBIES STICKY THREAD SAYS
PLUS READ OTHER RECENT THREADS ON THE SAME TOPIC AND FOLLOW THE SAME ADVICE, BECAUSE THE ADVICE DOES NOT CHANGE
this topic appears daily on here , so all you do is follow the same paths as all the others, IF the defendant wishes to defend it
DO NOT IGNORE IT or a default judgment will be issued, and a possible CCJ one month aftet the judgement if the judgment is still unpaid
the sticky thread is there to try to help members deal with these issues , because it follows the same patterns , its the best FREE ADVICE you will get in the UK
this is the third one this evening , so they are clearly on a roll here , plus those inflated figures are astonishing too0 -
Same advice as here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5608068
Read the NEWBIES thread 'Small Claim?' section first and take heart from the fact we have never seen a CEL claim proceed further than DQ stage, they fold. No-one has lost one because no-one has had to go to a hearing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
