Does the value of a claim affect next years premium?

Hi, I'll try to keep this brief.
New driver has as at-fault accident.
Scenario 1. They only claim to have the third party vehicle repaired. (£2000 repair costs)
Scenario 2. They claim to have both vehicles repaired. (£4000 repair costs)

A year later new quotes are sought. Would there be any difference in premiums between the two scenarios?

Basically we are trying to determine whether next years premiums would be lower if we only claimed for the third party vehicle to be repaired.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.:money:

  • Crooksy, major issue here is the at fault bit not the amount paid out. Potentially if you were looking at 10s of £1,000s difference between your 2 scenarios this could help a bit but probably not £2,000.
  • Any fault accident no matter what the value of it will load your premium............by how much is impossible to say.............
