Hi
We are in the middle of buying a new build from Taylor Wimpey, it won't be complete until August time, we haven't had our optional extras meeting but does anyone have a idea of some go the costs etc? We have asked a few times for a brochure but they seem to want to avoid giving one out? we just want a idea on prices etc before the meeting to have a idea of what we will need to sort ourselves
we are considering inter appliances and full house flooring with a few other things
Does anyone have a link to a brochure with prices ? all we can find online are optional upgrades but no prices
thanks for your help

We are also buying a Taylor Wimpey new build through a local estate agent. They have actively discouraged us from paying for any additional upgrades due to the cost - it's where developers make a lot of money!
My advice would be not to bother with any of the upgrades and get them done yourself. You might be able to go direct to the tradesmen on site if you are friendly with the site manager.0 -
I have a paper copy of an optional extras 'brochure' - some of the extras, in my opinion, are fairly reasonably priced and worth doing. Others are completely ridiculous!
Is there anything specific you want the prices of?0 -
I'd also be interested in approx costs of built in wardrobes and flooring throughout (3bed)0

Would you be able to upload a copy of this myself and the OH are about to reserve a TW house and want to know what these are price wise to see if it is worth it.0 -
Biggest optional extra on a TW house seems to be the freehold - I'd make sure I owned that before worrying about the tiles in the bathroom or the number of plug sockets in the kitchen.0

You are so right Tim, optrional extras would be the very last thing I'd worry about given the current crisis in these new build leasehold houses.0
