Best card for booking hols/spending abroad

Hello, I want to book a holiday abroad for next year, pay for hire car and also use it for spending in Italy. I will only be using the card for this and don't plan on using it for general spending.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Get yourself a Nationwide B.S. credit card because they don't charge a fee (otherwise known as loading) when you use your card abroad. Other financial institutions charge around 2.75% - 3.00% on purchases abroad. Also you will get a decent exchange rate from Nationwide.

If you are booking in advance, look at getting a 0% for purchases card.

A 0% for 12 months will probably outweigh any currency loading.

For spending abroad, as TC mentioned go for the Nationwide, but be careful of DCC when using it abroad.

DCC - Dynamic Currency Conversion

Where the foreign company converts your purchase amount to GBP at a not very favourable rate.

I have had a lot of arguements about this, be careful that there is no mention of GBP on the receipt before you sign.
