Broadband account away from home

Does anyone know if there is a broadband provider where you can access your account away from home please?
I am currently with BT, would love to leave but have to spend a lot of time at a hospital and so useful to be able to use my BT account to go online with BT Openzone. There is no phone signal there otherwise I would use my mobile phone data.

You can use your BT WiFi when out and about .
As a BT Broadband customer you get free access to millions of BT Wi-Fi hotspots, so you can stay connected on the go.
The easiest way to set up and use BT Wi-Fi is through the BT Wi-Fi app.
Download it now from the Apple app store and Google Play store by searching for 'BT Wi-Fi'0 -
Thank you but I am at the end of a contract with BT, very poor service and would like to change to another provider.
The only good thing with BT is the ability to go online anywhere using my account and I may have to stay with them for that reason. Just wondered whether any other provider provided that sort of access.0 -
Not sure if this is still the case. But you used to be able to get FON router that you connect to your home broadband. And as long as its online, you would get free access to the whole FON network. This includes alot of the BT WiFi.
You might be able to find other providers that also give access to BT WiFi. I know Vodafone mobile does, im sure there are others0 -
Thank you Cycrow. Some good ideas, I will look into those.0

SKY have taken over a similar setup .
Alternative is one of the paid for services .
If your BT problem is the line or your household then unless you move to VM you will be using BT line and have the same internal wiring .0 -
Is there no data signal on any of the mobile networks? Or just none on yours? See what others there are using...often one will be better than the others.
If there is one of the networks (but not yours) - you might find a separate mobile wifi dongle and data plan to suit solves your need. TBH you might even find that suits / saves money as the new solution at home if you are not too heavy a data user / don't want BT sport ...
Otherwise, do the hospital not have wifi offering - many seem to have added this to make a little money for the trust and while not free - at least you can stay connected.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
Thank you again for your comments and advice.
The hospital has BT Openzone wifi!
The easiest thing to do is stay with BT, as the wifi is included, and put up with the poor service but I have a couple of weeks before I need to decide so will look at the alternatives suggested, especially the other mobile networks.0 -
