We have a floor lamp in the living room that currently has 6 x 10w Halogen G4 bulbs in.

I'd like to go brighter and thought about LED's so ordered some but they flicker and I believe its because I have a foot dimmer on the floor lamp.
The foot dimmer is a 240V-12V thing that we never actually use as we use the wall plug switch for on/off. e1§
Its actually one of these

My question is that I wonder if its a simple enough job to replace the 'foot dimmer' with an LED compatible box/transformer/driver and then the lamp (which we quite like) will then use LED's. Non dimming is absolutely fine.

Any opinions if its doable?

Thanks
